What foods make your teeth stronger?

There is often talk about foods that have a positive effect on skin health, vitality, hair. On the other hand, very little is said about a tooth-friendly diet.

The foods you choose and how often you eat them can affect your general health and the health of your teeth and gums, too.

Dental care is not enough

In addition to regular and proper oral hygiene, flossing, mouthwashes, and regular check-ups at the dentist, some foods can help keep your smile and teeth healthy and strong for a long time.

If we eat unhealthily and often consume foods that adversely affect dental health, hygiene can only partially preserve them.

Vitamins are essential for your dental health

It’s common knowledge that sugar is one of the main reasons for dental problems. It is true, but problems can also cause a lack of nutrients that make teeth stronger.

The most important vitamins for dental health are easily soluble in fats: Vitamin A, D, K2, E, C, and coenzyme Q10.

Good sources of vitamin A include milk, eggs, veal liver, fish.

Vitamin C has a positive effect on bleeding gums and helps them to recover quickly, thus reducing the possibility of gingivitis. Large amounts of vitamin C are present in apples and carrots, and these foods are also considered natural toothbrushes.

Vitamin D is rich in fatty types of fish, dairy products, and mushrooms, and sun exposure also helps a lot, of course in a healthy way, because our body got this vitamin in that way as well.

Vitamin K is present in butter, soft cheeses, eggs, liver.

Vitamin E is rich in nuts, broccoli, and spinach.

Calcium is one of the most important minerals in the human body, as it helps form and maintains strong bones and teeth.  Calcium is crucial for the growth and development of teeth in children. This mineral helps strengthen tooth enamel, and thus protects the tooth from caries, breakage and cracking. Milk and dairy products are good sources of calcium.

Supplement CoQ10 has positive effects on oral health as well as the whole body. Coenzyme Q10 supports gum health and decreases dum disease.

Legumes, cauliflower, cabbage or onions, contain coenzyme Q10 in abundance.

Chew your food well

Food that requires chewing also helps to preserve the health of teeth and help strengthen them. The chewing action massages your gums. Also, prolonged chewing strengthens the muscles in the jaw, and saliva is additionally secreted, thus reducing the number of harmful bacteria in the mouth.
