What is preventive dentistry?
Preventive Dentistry deals with prevention (prevention of oral disease).
Why should I opt for preventive dentistry?
Because nothing can replace your tooth.
What services in the field of preventive dentistry do you offer?
In our clinic we offer the following services:
1. Fissure sealing
2. Teeth flouridation
3. Soft and hard plaque removal with flossing
4. Training in proper brushing
Why should I bring my child to preventive dental treatment?
Because it is most important that the first few child’s contacts with the dentist be stressless.
What is a fissure sealing?
Fissure sealing is actually a throw of mass similar to composite in the alcove on the bitten tooth surface which are places where caries appears most often.
What is the finish line?
The goal is to reduce the depth of the fissures and thus to reduce the risk of caries formation.
What do I get with fissure sealing?
You get a reduced chance of caries formation.
Who should come to fissure sealing?
Fissure sealing is recommended as one of the first treatment that should take your child to as soon as his first permanent teeth erupt. Fissures can also be sealed by adults.
What is tooth fluoridation?
That is the treatment of fluoride installation in your tooth tissue, making them stronger and more resistant and therefore reduces the chance for caries formation.
Does it mean that after fluoridation I’ll never be able to get caries?
No one can guarantee that, it all depends on how you maintain your oral hygiene and what is the quality of our teeth. There is one thing certain namely, that the number of caries will be smaller at the fluorinated teeth than at the unfluorinated teeth.
Who should flourinate his teeth?
Teeth should flourinate adults and especially children.
Soft and Hard Plaque Removal with Flossing
Why are soft and hard plaques so significant?
Soft plaques are the main contributors to tooth caries, gum inflammation (gingivitis) and periodontal disease (tooth seesaw and tooth loss).
How to remove soft and hard plaque?
They are removed with the use of ultrasound, mechanical brushes and with the floss (flossing).
My teeth look clean when I look in the mirror. I do just fine brush. Why would I then come to a professional cleaning?
In the majority of people around the teeth there are areas that are invisible to the eye and that is impossible to brush properly. These areas need professional cleaning. These areas are the most common source of problems by people who brush their teeth regularly.
How much cleaning is recommended annually?
Cleaning is recommended every 6 months if the dentist doesn’t recommend otherwise.
What do I get with this treatment?
You keep your teeth protected from caries and keep the bone in which they are from destruction, from withdrawal due to the tooth loss that occurs frequently and by completely healthy teeth.
Proper Brushing Training
Many people say that they brush their teeth three times a day for 5 minutes. The question is whether they brush them properly? Poor brushing technique leads to compaction of dirt in the interdental spaces, dental sulcus, namely, in those areas that aren’t visible. Teeth appear to be visually clean, but they are not really because all the dirt from the mouth is than pushed into the spaces around the teeth where it represents a greater threat than its rest on the teeth.
When you visit to your dentist ask them to explain how to properly brush your teeth.
